Q. Is it safe to submit my personal information through your online application?

A. Yes. To protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control, we have implemented Internet security technology with our online life insurance application. Any personal information you enter will be encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology (SSL protects information as it crosses the Internet); this creates a protected connection that ensures confidentiality. Your browser will activate SSL automatically. This will show our application’s domain origin as “https”, verifying SSL.

Q. Does submitting this application put me under any obligation to purchase life insurance?

A. No. This is simply a preliminary application which authorizes us to complete a company-specific application on your behalf. The company-specific application will then be signed by you: either electronically through a secure online signature process, over the phone with an insurance company representative, or in person when a medical professional comes to your home or place of employment to perform your paramedical exam.

Q. Am I under any obligation to purchase life insurance after I sign the company-specific application?

A. No. By signing the company-specific application you allow the insurance company to perform an underwriting analysis of your health history, as well as your current health and lifestyle. After this is completed, they will provide you an offer of insurance that you are free to accept or reject.

Q. Is there any cost for the application process.

A. No. There is no cost to you for any part of the application process. You will only have to pay the premium for your life insurance policy, if you choose to accept it.

Q. How do I know what company to choose?

A. This is a personal question that cannot be easily answered with a generic statement. If you believe yourself to be in good health, and want the lowest premium, you can simply run an instant price quote and find out what company will best fill your needs. However, if you have any question, simply write “Don’t Know” on the application (under “Insurance Company”) and we will provide you with our professional opinion.

Q. Are your price quotes accurate?

A. Our price quotes are provided by COMPULIFE® and have been taken from the rate cards and rate manuals which life companies routinely publish and distribute to life agents and brokers. They are a highly reputable company which does everything they can to ensure that the information contained in their comparisons are up-to-date and accurate. However, if there is a discrepancy between the information contained in their comparisons, and any life company authorized illustration and/or policy, the policy shall govern.

Q. What happens after I submit the online application?

A. We will immediately receive your application at our offices. You will likewise receive an e-mail from us confirming our receipt. Within one business day you will receive an e-mail from our staff updating you on the status of your application. Then, throughout the processing of your application, you will receive regular updates on your application status. You are also welcome to call or e-mail with any questions about your application, or to request a status update.

Q. How long does it take for my policy to get issued?

A. Usually within 4-6 weeks. However, this is somewhat dependent on you. You are able to set up the paramedical appointment at your convenience. The sooner you set it up for, the quicker your policy will be issued. The length of time can also depend on what, if any, medical history records need to be ordered, and how long it takes your doctor(s) to process the request for your medical records. Doctors typically give themselves up to 30 days to process these requests (although many are processed quicker than that).

Q. Is there anything else I should know?

A. In a general sense, we have tried to give you the basic information and steps you need to apply for and obtain life insurance. However, as each applicant is unique, we treat them as such. While we have created an online system for purchasing life insurance, we still provide personalized service for each client.
