Unemployed? Don’t go uninsured!

During the current recession many people have lost their jobs and are looking for work—you may be one of them.

Unfortunately, when people lose their jobs they may lose more than just a regular paycheck; they also lose the supplemental benefits of their employment, which often includes their life insurance. As hard as losing a job may be, losing a husband or wife who supports a family will have an even bigger and more long-lasting financial effect.

If you are unemployed, and do not currently own a life insurance policy, you may still be able to get life insurance to provide financial protection for your family. By doing so, you can prevent a temporary financial strain from turning into a prolonged and perhaps permanent financial struggle if something were to happen to you.

On the other hand, if you are currently employed, but do not carry any life insurance outside of a company-provided policy, it would be wise to consider an additional life insurance policy that you could retain independent of your employment status.

The cost of a life insurance policy is likely much less than you think; however, the cost of not owning a life insurance policy is likely much, much more than you can imagine.
